OIKO LOGICA in the National Center for Environmental Technology in Perú
A team of experts from OIKO LOGICA has completed an IN the
Evaluation of
the National Center for Environmental Technologies (Centro de
Tecnología Ambiental de Perú). The
The German
Cooperation Agency (GIZ) has sent our consortium ECI-OIKOLOGICA to complete an
assessment of the different support programs in Latin America coordinated by
the Regional Fund for South-South Cooperation.
The National
Center for Environmental Technology is a leader in the science of human health
and ecological risk assessment, a process used to determine how pollutants or
other stressors may impact human health and the environment.
The center
occupies a critical position generating new findings and data and the
regulators in Environmental Protection programs and regional offices who
must make regulatory, enforcement, and remedial action decisions.
CTA addresses
the needs of stakeholders by preparing technical reports and assessments that
integrate and evaluate the most up-to-date research. These products serve as a
major component of the scientific foundation supporting regulations and
policies. CTA also conducts cutting-edge research to develop innovative
quantitative risk assessment methods and tools that help extrapolate
between experimental data and real-world scenarios, improve our
understanding of uncertainties, and facilitate careful weighing of evidence.

Innovate Financing for Climate Change
For those interested in understanding how finance is important for climate change and how innovative financing arrangements can help combat poverty and renewable energies, this Lab is a good source of inspiration. Very illustrative experiences on how public finance can play an instrumental role on climate change adpatation and mitigation.
People think that climate change is about costal destruction, temperature, poor households being affected by cyclone and floods, etc. which is right! But the only way to PREVENT this from happening is providing insurance for farmers, funding for innovative energy financing in non commercial setting and other basket funds and financial arrangements which are NOT supported by commercial traditional banks.

The Global Climate Change Alliance +
In April, OIKO LOGICA will be working in partnership with AECOM Europe in a new project to formulate a new Climate Change Program. The GCCA+ will foster policy
dialogue with vulnerable countries and exchange of experiences in the context of the United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The new GCCA+ will provide vulnerable countries in Africa, Asia, The Caribbean and Pacific, primarily Island States, technical and
financial support to climate vulnerable developing countries and regions.
The GCCA+ will concentrate on the integration of climate change and disaster
risk reduction into development planning processes at different levels,
including budgeting and monitoring systems.
We are proud to contribute to climate solutions in priority areas in the fields of community resilience to climate change, climate finance,
adaptation and mitigation synergies, ecosystem-based adaptation, gender issues,
urban development, climate-induced migration and more, as these topics become
increasingly significant for development and policy agendas.
Philippines
We are happy to start the year with an challenging new assignment in The Philippines. This is our first time in The Philippines.
Our team will spend a month in Manila in Spring working with the Department of Budget and management from the Government of the Philippines to assist in the contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and poverty reduction.
